25 Laps Rolling Start
RACE RESULT
RACE REPORT
Green flagged dropped, Wainman made a great start, but Harris tracked him all the way and entering the first corner Harris clipped the kerb causing his first bend intentional big hit on Wainman to be at the wrong angle.
Wainman hit the armco sideways and continued but Harris spun leaving him exposed to the remaining drivers charging down to the corner. Harris was hit several times and alot of cars ended up in the fence.
After a track blockage on lap 2, the race was red flagged and a complete restart ordered. Several drivers worked hard on their cars, but the front Dutch row drivers (H399 & H247) did not re-appear.
Dutchman H99 also failed to make the grid along with 335 & 434.
Once again the green flagged dropped and Wainman surged away, this time Harris waited.
A few laps in and Harris went for the big hit, sending Wainman into the armco at an angle. Wainman car was damaged, but carried on.
Meanwhile Dan Johnson had worked his way up to near the front and brought Kroonder and Fairhurst with him, all three qualifying via the Consi Semi.
Another set of yellow flags ensued, due to Rob Speak rolling. By now most of the front of the grid were on the centre green.
On the restart Johnson followed Harris for a few laps, then put in a huge hit which saw Harris mount the fence and out of the World Final.
More yellows occurred. On the restart, Paul Hines got put in and another set of yellows.
By now Mark Gilbank was leading, with Johnson, Fairhurst and Wainman behind.
The final spell of the World Final saw Gilbank lead them away, but Johnson once again move Gilbank aside with a forceful hit.
Charging down the home straight, Fairhurst hit both Gilbank and Johnson wide, and pulled away.
Kroonder had dropped off, Gilbank dropped down the order but Wainman was through to second with Johnson third. Craig Utley (after having his car on jacks most of the pre meeting) was in an incredible fourth spot.
Fairhurst drove to the flag, with Johnson managing to get past a very wounded Wainman in the last few laps.
