National Points Shootout Summary
Winner of the National Series is entitled to wear a Silver roof until the next National Series is contended.
NATIONAL SERIES : 2002 - 2008
The National Series was based on points scored over 35 meetings (30 in 2005) throughout the season.
Each driver had a "Joker" one to be played on each surface, which doubled their meetings score.
Each drivers points total was then calculated by taking their best 30 scores (28 in 2005).
The National Series Final scored Double Points.
NATIONAL SERIES : 2009
35 Meetings were designated as National Series Rounds throughout the season.
The first 25 rounds acted as a qualification to the last 10 rounds - The Shoot-Out.
Jokers were allowed within the first 25 meetings, one for each surface.
After the 25 meetings the top ten point scorers progressed to the "Shoot-Out".
All points were zeroed, except for a small attendance points bonus.
Points were scored as per usual meeting points structure.
Final Shoot-Out Round carried double points.
All shoot-out drivers would be classed as Superstars and start at the very back of the grid in shoot out points order.
NATIONAL SERIES : 2010 - 2011
For 2010 no qualification rounds applied. All meetings up to 1st August counted.
No jokers were applicable either and the top twelve drivers at 1st August would progress to the "Shoot-Out".
All scores were zerod but with additional bonuses used as a starting point.
Two points for each qualifying round attended + One point for each qualifying round final win.
NATIONAL SERIES : 2012 - 2023
For 2012 the final 12 drivers, were cut down to 6 drivers half way through the "Shoot-Out" Rounds.
NATIONAL SERIES : 2024 - Current
NATIONAL POINTS CHAMPIONSHIP SHOOTOUT (Renamed)
For 2024 the top 15 drivers in National Points + 1 Wildcard, were split into 4 groups of 4.
Four meetings are raced with the top two points scorers of each group advancing to the 2nd Round.
The 8 remaining drivers were split into 2 groups of 4.
Four further meetings are raced with the top three drivers of each group advancing to the "Shoot-Out Finale"
The final 6 drivers race over 4 meetings with the top point scorer becoming the National Points Shootout Champion.
