How did you find Brisca F1 Stock Cars?
I saw a billboard for Belle Vue Easter Monday 1962 and I went along on my own age 15 on the bus and that experience changed my life.
What gave you the incentive to race
After watching one meeting I knew that I wanted to build a car and race. I went to several more meetings at Belle Vue that year with friends who agreed to help me and returned in 1963 aged 16 to compete in my first race with no practice!
First Car - Built, Bought or Borrowed
My first car was bought from Ken Chapman #183. It was abandoned in a field with a seized engine and many other problems. However, undeterred we got it up and running; the car had an unknown chassis and a Buick ST8 motor.
Memory of your first race.
My first race was at Belle Vue. I don't remember much about it other than being treated by St Johns for scalds when my radiator blew!
Best Racing Memory
Obviously my first win at Aycliffe, 21st Aug 1966.
Worst Racing Memory
Worst being pushed over a barrel by Tiger Griffin #178
