How did you find Brisca F1 Stock Cars?
Mechanic for his friend Lionel Alderson (ex 208) towards the end of the sixties.
What gave you the incentive to race
Did some time trails in between races with his road car and was bitten by the bug. Also though he'd be better repairing his own damage that someone else's.
First Car - Built, Bought or Borrowed
Built his first car (under 219) with a Cadillac engine. The car was long and went well round the corners but had no power.
Memory of your first race.
Passing John Hillam and thinking he wasn't doing too bad.
Best Racing Memory
Getting 3rd in Driver of the Year which back then was nearly as big as the World Final (Frank Snr 1st, Len Wolfenden 2nd), although most of the laughing seems to be because of the larking about and the mix up with the trophies after the race!
Worst Racing Memory
Spinning on his back bumper at Sheffield. He says it seems to spin forever and he thought he was dead as everything was black then it hit the ground upside down and he could see grass.
Reason for Retiring
The pain was taking longer and longer to go away as he got older.
After Retiring - What Then?
He has been going to watch when Mal is racing for the last few years but didn't at first because it was too hard not to be racing.
