How did you find Brisca F1 Stock Cars?
I raced Bomber cars locally in Chesterfield, and used to watch bombers racing at Long Eaton
but one meeting I suddenly realised I was at the wrong meeting and discovered Formula One Stock Cars.
What gave you the incentive to race
My workshop was next to Reg Day #349. He raced F1s so I started helping him at some of the meetings.
He then told me he was getting ready for packing up, so I decided to buy his car.
First Car - Built, Bought or Borrowed
I bought the first car for 800 pounds it originally belonged to Robbie Craig #62.
Memory of your first race.
My first race was at my local track, Sheffield. Obviously I thought I was going to win but I had a big wake-up call when I hit the fence on the third lap!
On the way home I said I was going to sell the car as it was not for me, which did not happen as the next day I thought I would give it another go!
Best Racing Memory
I would say all the life-long friends I have met along the way.
Winning the White Top Championship at Skegness, the only race meeting I attended with my dad.
Worst Racing Memory
Probably could write a book on the subject!
The worst moment(s) was the amount of times we broke down with the transporter on the way back home!
Reason for Retiring
The amount of commitment it required and the cost also as I was trying to raise a family with two kids.
After Retiring - What Then?
Went on to help Peter Falding #33 in the Euro car series.
Then I become a spotter for Mark Willis in the Pick-up Truck Series which I have been in for more than 20 years. I have been more successful at being the only spotter to win "Spotter of the Year" twice.
I also run the Spotter training courses.
