What gave you the incentive to race
His old car became a spare in 1986, bought an old Oldsmobile Smallblock and my career was on its way!
First Car - Built, Bought or Borrowed
We always built our cars by ourselves.
Memory of your first race.
My first race was on Baarlo (Short) and in the first heat, I had a tremendous roll over because I hit one of the big tyres on the side of the track!
Best Racing Memory
3rd at the European at Northampton in 1998,� but I was disqualified because the car was one 10th of a kilo to heavy ( Thanks to Frankie Wainman Snr) - 515 Frankie Jnr had this problem at the Dutch Open at Lelystad a year before, So that was his revenge (sad but true) but still we did a big party��..
Worst Racing Memory
Broken leg at Venray 1995 , cost me 8 months � I was hit by Louw Wobbes on the back while my car had a problem�..then I had a problem!
Reason for Retiring
Reason ; I had problems with my neck and on doctors advice I retired, but I did go on for two years more and finished in Nov. 2003 as the pain was to much. It is getting better now.
After Retiring - What Then?
We still have our club house, and we still meet with our mech and fans up there .. with a drink of course and talking about the old times, My main mechanic (also my best friend, his son wants to start racing, first mini and then maybe F2 or �.F1 ). So then we are back on the scene but this will take some years.
