How did you find Brisca F1 Stock Cars?
Found Brisca stockcars as used to go to local stadium Aycliffe as a spectator.....
What gave you the incentive to race
Won a destruction derby race..travelling as a passenger (yes really)..we were hit hard...driver baled out..car still running...got in drivers seat and went on to win....surely F1 could not be as hard.....
First Car - Built, Bought or Borrowed
First car...Frank snr hire car...original World final winning chassis..not same engine...and chassis not as straight
Memory of your first race.
First race Aycliffe...not raining..started from front (No practice then)...was still leading after 10 laps when engine lost power and stopped...gave me a taste of what to expect handling wise...
Best Racing Memory
Best racing memory...first race win...comsolation...White City Manchester...very hectic..had Mike Close(199) catching for last four laps...but made it to the flag.....
Worst Racing Memory
Cannot think of worst racing memory...although I am sure there will be some..although remember a Northampton Semi, which we had qualified for, and had just bought a brand new race engine, which was very fast...so much so it blew a head gasket in practice just before the meeting.... First engine we had that was not built by Brian Powles...got my money back, and went back to Brian, who suitably rubbed it in......
Reason for Retiring
Never think of myself as retired...but probably unlikely to race F1 again, unless its heritage...but never say never. We put a lot into our racing....Maintaining our two cars and coach, was very time consuming(and not cheap)..we also built
epaired cars for other local drivers...If Aycliffe was still running now, then probably so would we....and a few others
After Retiring - What Then?
After retiring from racing...actually had money in my pocket so spent some time travelling abroad...and now and for the last four years we spend a fair bit of the year living in Spain....Makes up for all the holidays we never had...or couldnt afford.
