How did you find Brisca F1 Stock Cars?
I was brought up with it as a child my dad was racing from the sixty's he was involved with Pete Farrington and Wilf Blundell hence my number 75.
What gave you the incentive to race
I was the mechanic for my dad from about 10 years old i missed out on how important mini stox was though so i never gained any racing experience it was straight from messing with fork lifts and trucks round the yard to F1 not the best way to start.
First Car - Built, Bought or Borrowed
My 1st car was the Mike Huddart built, over weight tank, a terrible car i must say, we then shared the Wainman built car (best ever) until we sold up around 1983 ?
Memory of your first race.
Sorry i don't recall that, hope it was the old Belle Vue.
Best Racing Memory
My only win in a very wet consolation at Belle Vue; also a night at skegness racing with Mike Close and Andy Scott, i was getting the hang of tarmac my Dad hated Tarmac because you had to use the brakes lol.
Worst Racing Memory
Maybe my 1st heavy shunt at Hartlepool when cars piled into me whilst stuck in the fence.
Reason for Retiring
Me and Dad always fighting over who raced even whilst on the way to meetings i was left alone to prep the car long hours with no support so i just had enough no fun no more, after that Ray decided to sell up best we did as the business would have gone bust back then.
After Retiring - What Then?
I became fleet engineer for the truck fleet and used to prepare the trucks you may have seen on the Motorways, we won lots of truck shows including Truckfest in 1988.
2014 - I'm currently living life between here and Thailand i hope to fully retire there in 5 years (55) i have a farm and property's there.
I've not been to F1 since around 1985 but this last couple of years i keep up to date with f1 stockcars.com; Me and dad haven't spoke since 1993. He's living in Las Vegas still having to work at 72 to support himself its all quite sad really but that's life I'm afraid.
