Ernie was the scrutineer at Long Eaton for many years and was also steward at both Leicester and Brafield. His son John helped Phil Wheelton #411/#6 for many years.
Ernie sadly passed away in 1985. The trophy was originally alternated between Northampton & Long Eaton and presented to the meeting final winner.
Last record found was in 2002 at Coventry, not sure why the change of track nor why it wasn't ever raced for again.
