Roger was a fan who followed the sport from the fifties right through till he passed away in the early 2000's, very rarely missing a meeting in the 90's.
Can't tell you what year it was first raced for, but it was the season that he never saw the beginning of having passed away in the winter.
It was, and I think still is, the final winners trophy on the Saturday of the European weekend at Northampton, and the first year it was run his grandson Ashley made his track debut racing a Wainman hire car for the weekend.
