Stuart Bamforth Memorial Trophy

Stuart started his racing career as far back as 1963, under number #337 for two seasons only. He returned in 1968 as #353 with limited success. This time it was for three seasons.
However, after a season out, Stuart gave it one last shot and started the 1973 season as #3. 1974 saw him finish the season top yellow, but it came together in 1975 after almost writing the car off at Hednesford, Allan Barker rebuilt the car and Stuart didn't look back.
He finished the season a star grade driver. In 1976, Stuart claimed the ultimate prize - The World Title. His flawless drive at White City saw him easily take the honours and wrote his name into the history books.
Surprisingly though, this is not what "Bammy" is really remembered for. In 1977 he forwent his driving, in order to re-vamp Bradford Stadium and make his promoting debut.
As it was a very successful venture, Bammy then took on the mecca of stock cars - Hyde Road, Belle Vue, Manchester.
Until its closure in 1987, it remained the focal point of Brisca, and Bammy put a huge amount of work into promoting and it was very well received by the spectators and drivers alike.
Stuart sadly passed away in 2002. Uncertain as to whether the trophy was raced for between 2007 & 2010 or 2012.
